»View Product Info

Obtains speed and direction information from a radio controller (R/C) signal for a specific radio receiver channel you specify.

Note  You must have the SPEEDY-33 Robot Daughter Module to use this VI.

This VI interprets a variable width pulse by monitoring the pulse width on the SPEEDY-33 J1 digital I/O connector on the SPEEDY-33 Robot Daughter Module. You can use the pulse width to determine the speed and forward or reverse direction a radio controller operator supplies. The control pulse width typically ranges from 700 uS to 2300 uS.

Details

channel indicates the radio controller (R/C) channel. Available channel selections are RC1, RC2, RC3, and RC4.
speed-PWM represents the R/C speed value for the selected channel. A value of -1 indicates full speed in the reverse direction. A value of 0 indicates neutral. A value of 1 indicates full speed in the forward direction.

RC Speed Control Details

The following digital inputs correspond to one of four R/C channels:

  • In0 corresponds to RC1
  • In1 corresponds to RC2
  • In2 corresponds to RC3
  • In3 corresponds to RC4

You can use multiple instances of the RC Speed Control VI on the same block diagram. However, you must use a unique channel. For example, you can use four RC Speed Control VIs on a block diagram with individual channels of RC1, RC2, RC3, RC4. You cannot duplicate channel numbers. For example, you cannot use four RC Speed Control VIs on a block diagram with individual channel selections of 0, 1, 0, and 3 because two of the instances of the RC Speed Control VIs are using the same channel number 0.
