Performance and Disk Options Page

Select Tools»Options to display the Options dialog box and select Performance and Disk from the Category list to display this page.

Use this page to set performance and disk options.

This page includes the following components:

  • Check available disk space during launch—Reports the amount of disk space available in the temporary directory as LabVIEW starts. This checkbox is checked by default.

Note  Changes to this option take effect the next time you start LabVIEW.
    • Minimum KB for Abort—Indicates the minimum amount of disk space needed to run LabVIEW. If less than this amount of disk space is available, LabVIEW aborts its launch. If Use default is checked, you cannot edit this field.
      • Use default—Sets Minimum KB for Abort to its default value of 500 KB. This checkbox is checked by default. To edit Minimum KB for Abort, remove the checkmark from the checkbox.
    • Minimum KB for Warning—Indicates the preferred minimum amount of disk space needed to run LabVIEW. If less than this amount of disk space is available, LabVIEW warns you and continues its launch. If Use default is checked, you cannot edit this field.
      • Use default—Sets Minimum KB for Warning to its default value of 2,000 KB. This checkbox is checked by default. To edit Minimum KB for Warning, remove the checkmark from the checkbox.
  • Run with multiple threads—Enables multithreading. This option is available only on operating systems that support multithreading. This checkbox is checked by default. If you remove the checkmark from this checkbox, the execution system behaves as though you have only a single thread. Single thread execution removes some overhead from the execution system. However, you do not benefit from the advantages of multithreading, such as multiple processor support and the ability for a higher priority operation to interrupt a long operation (such as a screen redraw) to get better responsiveness from the application. Remove this checkmark from this option for VIs that are not compatible with a multithreaded execution system.

Note  Changes to this option take effect the next time you start LabVIEW.
