The Functions palette is available only on the block diagram. The Functions palette contains the VIs and functions you use to build the block diagram. The VIs and functions are located on subpalettes based on the types of VIs and functions.

The VIs and functions you view on the Functions palette depend on the visible categories.

Select View»Functions Palette or right-click the block diagram workspace to display the Functions palette. If you right-click the block diagram workspace, the palette will be in a temporary position. Click the thumbtack in the upper left corner of the palette to pin the palette so it is no longer temporary. LabVIEW retains the Functions palette position and size so when you restart LabVIEW, the palette appears in the same position and has the same size. You can change the contents of the Functions palette.

Note  By default, LabVIEW installs with an abridged palette view, unless you are upgrading and were using the Advanced palette view in a previous version of LabVIEW. You can use the View button to display or hide palette categories.
