Use this page of the Project Library Properties dialog box to set the version number, VI icon template, editing permissions, and default palette menu settings for a LabVIEW project library.

This page includes the following components:

  • Version Number—Contains the version number for the project library.
    • Major—Contains the component of the version number that indicates a major revision.
    • Minor—Contains the component of the version number that indicates a minor revision.
    • Fix—Contains the component of the version number that indicates a revision to fix problems.
    • Build—Contains the component of the version number that indicates a specific build.
  • VI Icon Template—Displays the black-and-white and color LabVIEW icons to associate with the project library. Click the Edit button to display the Icon Editor dialog box, which you can use to edit the existing icons or import an icon from a file.

The icon you select becomes the default icon for any VIs you create from within a project library. You can create a template icon to edit and use in all VIs that a project library owns.
    • B & W—Displays the black-and-white icon.
    • 256 Colors—Displays the color icon.
    • Edit—Launches the Icon Editor dialog box.
  • Protection—Specifies the level of editing permission to set.
    • Unlocked (no password)—Users can view public and private items that the project library owns and can edit the project library and its properties.
    • Locked (no password)—Users cannot add or remove items from the project library, edit project library properties, or view private items in the Project Explorer window that the project library owns. Some library properties and methods are unavailable when the project library is locked.
    • Password-protected—Users cannot add or remove items from the project library, edit project library properties, or view private items in the Project Explorer window that the project library owns. Users must enter a password to edit the project library. Click the Change Password button to reset the password.
Note  If you set a password for the project library, the password does not take effect until you clear the password cache or restart LabVIEW. You can clear the password cache from the Environment page of the Options dialog box.
      • Enter Password—Displays the Authentication dialog box and prompts you to enter the password to allow editing. This button is dimmed if the project item is not password-protected.
      • Change Password–Resets the password if you selected Password-protected.
  • Default Palette—Specifies the palette file (.mnu) to use as the default for all VIs that the project library owns. You must add a palette file to the project library before you can select a default palette.
Note  If you previously set the default palette from the Default Palette checkbox on the Item Settings page, the default appears in this listbox. If you use this listbox to change the default palette, the new default palette file contains a checkmark in the Default Palette checkbox.
  • Library Path—Displays the current path to the file. For project libraries, Library Path displays the path to the project library (.lvproj) file.
