Click the Search button on the toolbar of the Controls or Functions palette to display the Search dialog box.

Use this dialog box to perform text-based searches for any control, VI, or function on the Controls and Functions palettes.

This dialog box includes the following components:

• Search Options—Displays more of the dialog box so you can narrow or expand the search to only controls, only VIs and functions, or all objects. Click the button again to hide the section of the dialog box where you can narrow or expand the search.
• Search For—Sets whether LabVIEW searches only controls, only VIs and functions, or all objects. When you click the Search button on the Controls palette, LabVIEW searches only controls by default. When you click the Search button on the Functions palette, LabVIEW searches only VIs and functions by default.
  • Controls Only—Searches only the objects on the Controls palette.
  • Functions Only—Searches only the objects on the Functions palette.
  • Controls and Functions—Searches all objects on the Controls and Functions palettes.
• Search By—Sets whether LabVIEW searches for the text you enter in the names of objects on the palettes and in keywords associated with objects on the palettes or whether LabVIEW searches only the names of objects on the palettes.
  • Name and Keyword—Configures LabVIEW to search for the text you enter in the names of objects on the palettes and in keywords associated with objects on the palettes.
  • Name—Configures LabVIEW to search for the text you enter in the names of objects on the palettes.
