Use this page of the XControl Properties dialog box to set the version number, VI icon template, and editing permissions for a LabVIEW XControl library.

This page includes the following components:

  • Version Number—Specifies the version of the library.
    • Major—Contains the component of the version number that indicates a major revision.
    • Minor—Contains the component of the version number that indicates a minor revision.
    • Fix—Contains the component of the version number that indicates a revision to fix problems.
    • Build—Contains the component of the version number that indicates a specific build.
  • Icon—Displays the 256-color and black-and-white icons for the XControl library. This icon is displayed if you add the XControl to the Controls palette. Click the Edit button to edit the icons.
    • B & W—Displays the black-and-white icon.
    • 256 Colors—Displays the color icon.
    • Edit—Launches the Icon Editor dialog box.
  • Protection—Sets options for password-protected libraries.
    • Unlocked (no password)—Users can view public and private items that the LabVIEW XControl owns and can edit the LabVIEW XControl and its properties.
    • Unlocked (no password)—Users cannot add or remove items from the LabVIEW XControl, edit LabVIEW XControl properties, or view private items in the Project Explorer window that the LabVIEW XControl owns. XControl properties and member VIs are unavailable when the LabVIEW XControl is locked.
    • Password-protected—Users cannot add or remove items from the LabVIEW XControl, edit LabVIEW XControl properties, or view private items in the Project Explorer window that the LabVIEW XControl owns. Users must enter a password to edit the LabVIEW XControl.
      • Enter Password—Displays the Authentication dialog box and prompts you to enter the password to allow editing. This button is dimmed if the project item is not password-protected.
      • Change Password–Resets the password if you selected Password-protected.
  • Library Path—Contains the current path to the XControl library.
