You can control a front panel control remotely using data binding by selecting one of the following options from the Network-Published Source pull-down menu in the Select Source Item dialog box:

• Project Items—Binds the front panel control to a shared variable in a VI that is in the same project as the VI with the front panel control. You can bind controls only to network-published shared variables.
• Network Items—Binds the front panel control to a shared variable that is not in the same project as the VI with the front panel control. You can bind shared variables only to shared variables and data items that are currently deployed.
