Upgrading the Remote Front Panel License

You must configure a license to support the number of clients that potentially could connect to the server.

Note  The LabVIEW Full Development System and the Application Builder include a remote front panel license that allows one client to view and control a front panel remotely. The LabVIEW Professional Development System includes a remote front panel license that allows five clients to view and control a front panel remotely. You can upgrade the remote panel license to support more clients.

When you exceed the number of clients allowed by the license, the client receives a message that contains information you specify in the LicenseErrorMessage.txt file file in labview\www. You also can monitor the Denied connections list in the NI License Information window to determine if you need to upgrade the remote front panel license based on the number of client connections denied.

Complete the following steps to upgrade the remote front panel license to serve more client connections.

  1. Select Tools»Remote Panel Connection Manager to display the Remote Panel Connection Manager window.
  2. Click the License Information button to display the NI License Information window.
  3. If the Denied connections list displays clients that were denied access to the server and you want to upgrade the license to accommodate those clients, click the NI License Manager button to upgrade the license.
