Owning Palette: File I/O VIs and Functions
Requires: Base Development System
Creates a new path by appending a name (or relative path) to an existing path.
base path specifies the path to which this function appends name. The default is an empty path. If base path is invalid, this function sets appended path to <Not A Path>.
name or relative path is the new path component appended to base path. If name or relative path is an empty string or an invalid path, this function sets appended path to <Not A Path>. If base path is an empty path then name or relative path must be an absolute path. This function then sets appended path to the absolute path in name or relative path.
appended path is the resulting path.
Suppose the path to the VI containing this function is c:\dir1\first.vi. To use this function to build a path to another VI such as c:\dir1\second.vi, first wire the output of a Current VI's Path function to a Strip Path function. The Strip Path function returns a path of c:\dir1. You can wire this path to the Build Path function along with the name of the second VI.
