Owning Palette: Actor Framework VIs
Requires: Base Development System
(Filename: Actor Framework.lvlib:Actor.lvclass:Launch Actor.vi)
Launches a top-level VI that handles messages for an actor and starts this actor's tasks. This VI returns a reference to the queue you use to send messages to the actor.
This VI requires the Actor-to-Caller Enqueuer input, which is the reference that allows the launched actor to communicate with the caller. If you are launching the top-level actor, use the Read Enqueuer method to obtain this reference. If you are launching a nested actor, use the Read Self Enqueuer method instead.
|Actor specifies the initial state of the actor.|
|Actor-to-Caller Enqueuer specifies the reference to the queue that the new actor will use to communicate with the caller; that is, the VI that contains the Launch Actor method.
If you are launching the top-level actor, use the Read Enqueuer method to obtain this reference. If you are launching a nested actor, use the Read Self Enqueuer method instead.
|error in describes error conditions that occur before this node runs. This input provides standard error in functionality.|
|Open Actor Core front panel? specifies whether, on launching the actor, the front panel of its Actor Core method opens. Set this to TRUE during code development so you can access the Abort button for the VI, which can be helpful if you forget to stop an actor.
The default is FALSE, which specifies that the front panel does not open. Use this setting for released/deployed code.
|Caller-to-Actor Enqueuer returns the reference that the caller uses to send messages to the actor.|
|error out contains error information. This output provides standard error out functionality.|
