Owning Palette: AppleEvent VIs
Requires: Base Development System (Mac OS X). This topic might not match its corresponding palette in LabVIEW depending on your operating system, licensed product(s), and target.
Use the Low Level Apple Events VIs to construct Apple event parameters and send the Apple event. The high-level VIs for sending Apple events are based on the AESend VI and are good examples of creating Apple events and their parameters.
The VIs on this palette can return Apple event error codes.
|AECreate Comp Descriptor||Creates a string describing an Apple event comparison record, which indicates how to compare an Apple event object with another Apple event object or a descriptor record.|
|AECreate Descriptor List||Creates a string describing a list of Apple event descriptors, which you then can use with the AESend VI. You commonly use descriptor lists when you create the operands for a logical descriptor.|
|AECreate Logical Descriptor||Creates a string describing an Apple event logical descriptor, which you use with the AESend VI.|
|AECreate Object Specifier||Creates a string describing an Apple event object, which you can use with the AESend VI.|
|AECreate Range Descriptor||Creates a string describing an Apple event range descriptor record, which you use with the AESend VI.|
|AECreate Record||Creates a string describing an Apple event descriptor record, which you can use with the AESend VI. You can use a record descriptor to bundle descriptors of different types. Each descriptor has its own keyword, or name, and value.|
|AESend||Sends an Apple event to a target application.|
|Make Alias||Creates a unique description of a file using its pathname and location on the network. You can use this description with the AESend VI when sending an Apple event that refers to a file.|
