Use the Operating tool to click a cell and drag the cursor to select multiple cells in a table. You also can press the <Shift> key and drag the cursor to select multiple cells. If you move the cursor outside the visible contents of the table, the table scrolls and extends the selection. A border appears around the cells you select.

Note  If you do not want to extend the selection as you move the cursor outside the visible contents of the table, right-click the table and select Selection Scrolling from the shortcut menu to remove the checkmark. If you do not want to outline the selection with a border, right-click the table and select Advanced»Show Selection from the shortcut menu to remove the checkmark.

Complete the following steps to select an entire row or column of data.

  1. Use the Operating tool to click the left border of the row or the top border of the column. An arrow cursor appears when the tool is positioned properly.
  2. Drag the cursor across the height of the row or the width of the column.

To select all the data in a table, use the Operating tool to click the upper left corner of the table. A double arrow cursor appears when the tool is positioned properly.
