Right-click a LabVIEW project library or folder within a library and select New»Variable from the shortcut menu, or right-click an existing shared variable project item and select Properties from the shortcut menu to display this dialog box.
Use this dialog box to configure a new shared variable or edit the configuration of an existing shared variable.
|Note You cannot edit some properties of a shared variable until the VI the variable belongs to stops running and is no longer reserved to run. You also cannot remove or rename the shared variable or the items related to the variable in the Project Explorer window until the VI stops running and is no longer reserved to run.|
Use the selections in the left pane of this dialog box to access shared variable configuration options:
LabVIEW modules and toolkits you have installed might provide additional shared variable types, configuration options, and limitations. Refer to the documentation for the LabVIEW module or toolkit for more information about the shared variable types, configuration options, and limitations that product adds to shared variables.
