Feature Extraction VIs

Owning Palette: Wavelet Analysis VIs

Installed With: Advanced Signal Processing Toolkit. This topic might not match its corresponding palette in LabVIEW depending on your operating system, licensed product(s), and target.

Use the Feature Extraction VIs, based on the multi-resolution wavelet analysis, to perform denoising, detrending, probability density function estimation, peak detection, edge detection, and ridge detection.

The VIs on this palette can return general LabVIEW error codes or specific wavelet analysis error codes.

Palette ObjectDescription
WA DenoisePerforms noise reduction for 1D or 2D signals by using the discrete or undecimated wavelet transform (UWT). You must manually select the polymorphic instance to use.
WA DetrendRemoves the trend from 1D signals by setting the approximation coefficients to zeroes. Wire data to the signal input to determine the polymorphic instance to use or manually select the instance.
WA Multiscale Edge DetectionUses the multiresolution wavelet analysis to extract edges of signal.
WA Multiscale Peak DetectionUses multiresolution wavelet analysis to detect peaks or valleys in a signal. Wire data to the signal input to determine the polymorphic instance to use or manually select the instance.
WA Multiscale Ridge DetectionDetects ridges by extracting peaks of each row of signal.
WA Probability Density Function EstimationEstimates the probability density function (PDF) of 1D or 2D signals from the error-reduced statistical histogram. Wire data to the signal input to determine the polymorphic instance to use or manually select the instance.
Wavelet DenoisePerforms noise reduction for 1D signals by using the discrete or undecimated wavelet transform.
