The Beginning Compile dialog box appears when you click the Run button on an uncompiled FPGA VI or when you right-click an FPGA VI in the Project Explorer window and select Compile from the shortcut menu. Click the OK button to compile the VI or to reconnect to a previous compile running in the LabVIEW FPGA Compile Server.

This dialog box includes the following components:

  • Warning—Describes the compilation process and allows you to determine if this dialog box appears again. You can determine with the following options if this dialog box appears when you try to compile an FPGA VI:
    • Always appear—Specifies that the Beginning Compile dialog box always appears when you click the Run button on an uncompiled FPGA VI.
    • Never appear—Specifies that the Beginning Compile dialog box never appears.
    • Appear only if old bitfile exists—Specifies that the Beginning Compile dialog box appears only if you have a previously compiled bitfile of the FPGA VI you try to compile.
  • Use Old Bitfile—Specifies that LabVIEW uses a previously compiled version of the FPGA VI instead of recompiling the FPGA VI.
