You must create a LabVIEW project before you can create an application using an FPGA target. You then can add an FPGA target to the project and create FPGA VIs.
Use one of the following procedures to add an FPGA target to a project:
After you create the project with an FPGA target, you can perform the following tasks:
FPGA VI functionality varies depending upon the specific FPGA target. Refer to the specific FPGA target hardware documentation for more information on FPGA target functionality.
Complete the following steps to add an FPGA target that is installed in the local development computer to the Project Explorer window.

Tip If you do not have an FPGA target, you can select New target or device to display the types of FPGA targets for which support is installed on the development computer. You can assign an actual FPGA target later. |
You now can add an FPGA VI under the FPGA target and develop the FPGA VI.
Complete the following steps to add an FPGA target in an Real Time (RT) system to the Project Explorer window under an RT controller. Some FPGA targets cannot be used under an RT controller. Refer to the specific FPGA target hardware documentation for more information.

Note You might need to set access permissions for the RT controller to display existing FPGA targets in the Add Targets and Devices dialog box. |
You now can add an FPGA VI under the FPGA target and develop the FPGA VI.
After the remote FPGA target appears in MAX and you set access permissions to the remote system in which it resides, you can add that target to the Project Explorer window in LabVIEW and develop VIs to run on the target. FPGA functionality varies depending on the specific target. Refer to the specific FPGA target hardware documentation for more information about remote systems. Complete the following steps to add a remote system and its FPGA target to the Project Explorer window in LabVIEW.
