Owning Palette: Libraries & Processes VIs
Installed With: DSC Module
Loads the variables in a LabVIEW project library into the Shared Variable Engine on the host computer. The variables are in a running state. Because this operation is available only on the host computer, any VIs contained in the project library remain unaffected.

library path specifies the path to the LabVIEW project library (.lvlib) file that contains configuration information for the shared variables and I/O servers you want to load into the Shared Variable Engine. Enter the full path to the .lvlib file, such as C:\data\data1.lvlib. If you enter only the filename of the .lvlib file, LabVIEW loads the file from the directory in which the VI that calls the Deploy Library VI resides.

error in describes error conditions that occur before this VI or function runs.
The default is no error. If an error occurred before this VI or function runs, the VI or function passes the error in value to error out. This VI or function runs normally only if no error occurred before this VI or function runs. If an error occurs while this VI or function runs, it runs normally and sets its own error status in error out. Use the Simple Error Handler or General Error Handler VIs to display the description of the error code. Use error in and error out to check errors and to specify execution order by wiring error out from one node to error in of the next node.

error out contains error information. If error in indicates that an error occurred before this VI or function ran, error out contains the same error information. Otherwise, it describes the error status that this VI or function produces.
Right-click the error out front panel indicator and select Explain Error from the shortcut menu for more information about the error.

If you want to use the Deploy Library VI in a built application to deploy a project library to a Shared Variable Engine on a target machine, do not build the project library into the application. Instead, the project library must reside outside the built application in a directory on the target machine.
You cannot use this VI to deploy a project library whose shared variables are bound to items, such as shared variables or I/O server data items, in other dependency project libraries. Use the Deploy Libraries VI to deploy the project library and the dependency project libraries at the same time.
![]() | Note If you deploy a library programmatically that contains both shared variables and VIs, LabVIEW generates error code 1 and does not deploy the library to the engine. Deploy the library manually to avoid the error. |
