Editing Shared Variable Configurations (DSC Module)

You can edit shared variables manually, programmatically, or manually in groups. To delete a shared variable, right-click the shared variable in the Project Explorer window and select Remove from the shortcut menu.

  • Editing Shared Variable Configurations Manually—Right-click a shared variable in the Project Explorer window and select Properties from the shortcut menu to display the Shared Variable Properties dialog box.
Note  You also can edit shared variables manually by using the NI Distributed System Manager.
  • Editing Shared Variable Configurations Programmatically—Use the SharedVariableIO properties to edit shared variable configurations programmatically. Editing a shared variable programmatically is helpful when displaying engineering units, scales, and other information about the shared variable or when changing a shared variable from off scan to on scan.
  • Editing Multiple Shared Variable Configurations—Use the Multiple Variable Editor window to edit a group of shared variables. You can use this window to edit properties, such as logging options, alarming options, and scaling options, for a large number of shared variables at once.
