Owning Palette: Utility VIs

Configures an existing binding between a front panel object and a shared variable through the corresponding tag of the shared variable. You can specify a front panel control or indicator by using the control reference. This VI resolves the corresponding shared variable for a tag and configures the front panel binding for that shared variable.
To use this VI, you must bind this front panel object to a shared variable.

control reference specifies the reference number associated with the object for which you want to configure the front panel binding. Create a control reference before you use this VI. |

Tag Reader in specifies the data of a group of tags that the Open Tag Reader VI opens. |

tag name specifies the name of the tag for which you want to bind to the front panel object. The default is the label text of the front panel object. |

error in (no error) describes error conditions that occur before this node runs. This input provides standard error in functionality. |

show LED? specifies whether to show or hide the data binding indicator. The default is TRUE. |

Tag Reader out returns the value of the Tag Reader instance. |

Bind this front panel object to a shared variable by using the Data Binding page. In this page, select Shared Variable Engine (NI-PSP) from the Data Binding Selection pull-down menu and specify a URL in the Path text box to bind this front panel object.
