Use the DSC Module VIs and functions to log, view, and manage historical data and network shared variables. You also can use the DSC Module VIs and functions to set up security for data logging applications.
|Historical Trend||Reads historical data from the Citadel database and displays the data on an XY graph. You must wire a VI Server reference of this XY graph to the Trend Reference input to use this Express VI. You must place the Historical Trend Express VI inside a While Loop.|
|Real-Time Trend||Reads live data from shared variables and displays the data in a waveform chart. You must wire a VI Server reference of this waveform chart to the Trend Reference input to use this Express VI.|
|Alarms & Events VIs||Use the Alarms & Events VIs to acknowledge alarms, display alarm summary or event history information, or obtain alarm summary status.|
|Engine Control VIs||Use the Engine Control VIs to interact with the Shared Variable Engine (SVE) by manipulating LabVIEW project library files, processes, shared variables, and I/O servers. For example, you can use the Engine Control VIs to deploy project libraries and shared variables to the SVE. You then can create an I/O server to read data from and write data to the SVE.|
|Historical VIs||Use the Historical VIs to obtain or read historical data about a shared variable, resample trace data, compute statistical data for a historical trace, query logged alarm and event data, or convert historical trace data to a spreadsheet format.
|Security VIs||Use the Security VIs to access security information about your application.|
|Shared Variables VIs||Use the Shared Variables VIs to interact with a shared variable, convert a string to a shared variable and back, and create an invalid shared variable name.
The Shared Variables palette also contains the Shared Variable node, which represents a shared variable on the block diagram, and the DataSocket functions, which you can use to read and write to shared variables.
|Statistical Process Control VIs||The Statistical Process Control VIs contain controls and functions you can use for process monitoring applications. To use statistical process control effectively, you must be trained in statistical process control (SPC) methods. SPC training is necessary because success in an SPC program depends on educated judgment and experience.|
|Tags VIs||Tags are data sources that contain values, traces, alarms, and events of shared variables and I/O server data items. Use the Tags VIs to complete the following tasks programmatically:
