The LabVIEW Datalogging and Supervisory Control (DSC) Module enables you to create advanced supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) applications. With the DSC Module, you can design applications to run in the LabVIEW application development environment, or you can design custom SCADA applications to deploy with the DSC Module Run-Time System.

Note  Refer to the National Instruments Web site for information about the DSC Module Run-Time System.

A DSC Module application typically consists of three components: front panels, shared variables, and supervisory programs. You can use the Model-View-Controller design pattern to develop a DSC Module application using these three components.

Before you develop a DSC Module application, you might want to review the DSC Module example VIs or use an example VI as a starting point for building your application. You can access these example VIs by selecting Help»Find Examples from the pull-down menu and selecting Toolkits and Modules»Datalogging and Supervisory Control Module in the NI Example Finder window.
