The main window toolbar contains shortcuts to commonly used options of the menu bar. Requirements Gateway divides the toolbar into the following sections: Standard, Configuration, Navigation, View Options, Filtering and Taggers, and Third Party.

The Standard section contains the following buttons:

Command Name Icon Description
New Creates a new project.
Open Opens an existing project.
Save Saves the current project.

The Configuration section contains the following buttons:

Command Name Icon Description
Edit Project Edit Project Launches the Project pane of the Configuration dialog box.
Edit Types Edit Types Launches the Types pane of the Configuration dialog box.
Edit Snapshots Edit Snapshots Launches the Snapshots pane of the Configuration dialog box.
Options Options Launches the Options pane of the Configuration dialog box.

The Navigation section, which is available only on the Coverage Analysis, Impact Analysis, Graphical, and Requirement Details views, contains the following buttons:

Back Back Displays the previous view of the main window.
Forward Forward Displays the next view of the main window.

The View Options section contains the following buttons:

Command Name Icon Description
Requirements Requirements Displays or hides requirements.
Derived Requirements Derived Requirements Displays or hides derived requirements.
Undefined Requirements Undefined Requirements Displays or hides undefined requirements.
Uncovered Requirements Uncovered Requirements Displays or hides uncovered requirements.
Entities Entities Displays or hides entities.
Non Covering Entities Non Covering Entities Displays or hides entities that do not cover any requirements, derived requirements, or macro-requirements.
Attributes Attributes Displays or hides attributes.
Links Links Displays or hides links.
Empty Sections Empty Sections Displays or hides sections that do not contain any traceability information.
Added Information Added Information Displays or hides information that you add, such as attributes, reference attributes, and text.

The Filtering and Tagger section contains the following buttons:

Command Name Icon Description
Filter Selection Applies a filter to display only requirements, macro-requirements, entities, sections, or references that meet the conditions you specified on the Filters pane.
Edit Filters Launches the Filters pane of the Configuration dialog box.
LabVIEW Tagger Launches the LabVIEW Tagger dialog box. This button is available when you select a LabVIEW document. Requirements Gateway also opens the LabVIEW files under the LabVIEW document.
Tagger Launches the Tagger dialog box. This button is available when you select a Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF file. Requirements Gateway also opens the Word or PDF file you select.
Note  To use the Tagger dialog box for a PDF file, you must have Adobe Acrobat Professional installed. Refer to the Readme.html file for the Acrobat Professional versions that Requirements Gateway supports.

The Third Party section contains a button that applies to specific third-party products, such as IBM Rational DOORS and IBM Rational RequisitePro.

Command Name Icon Description
Export Document to DOORS Export Document to DOORS Launches the Export Document to DOORS dialog box, in which you can create DOORS formal modules that contain project information and Link modules for traceability between IBM Rational DOORS requirements and Requirements Gateway analysis results. You must launch DOORS, log in to the database, and select a DOORS document in the Requirements Gateway main window for this option to become available.

You can also launch the Export Document to DOORS dialog box by selecting Tools»Export Document to DOORS in the main window when you select a DOORS document in the project.
Export Document to RequisitePro Export document to RequisitePro Launches the Export Document to RequisitePro dialog box, in which you can export traceability information from external source documents that cover requirements specified in an IBM Rational RequisitePro package into a separate RequisitePro package. You must launch RequisitePro and select a RequisitePro document in the Requirements Gateway main window for this option to become available.

You can also launch the Export Document to RequisitePro dialog box by selecting Tools»Export Document to RequisitePro in the main window when you select a RequisitePro document in the project.
