LabVIEW flattens the hierarchy of a simulation subsystem when you run that subsystem. This flattened hierarchy means Simulation functions inside a simulation subsystem can execute when that function receives all the inputs that function uses, even if the subsystem did not receive all the inputs the subsystem uses. A simulation subsystem saves a feedthrough mapping from all inputs to all outputs. If a subsystem input does not depend on the subsystem output at the current time step, you can use the subsystem as an indirect feedthrough function in a feedback cycle.
