Creating a Project Using the Touch Panel Project Wizard (Touch Panel Module)

Complete the following steps to use the Touch Panel Project Wizard to create a new Touch Panel project.

  1. From the Getting Started window, click Touch Panel Project under New to open the Touch Panel Project Wizard.
Note  If you have installed multiple LabVIEW modules, you might need to click New to open the New dialog box. Then select Touch Panel Project under Project»Project from Wizard and click the OK button to open the Touch Panel Project Wizard.
  1. Define the project information.
    1. Select the type of project you are creating from the Project type pull-down menu. You can create a project with a blank VI or you can import an existing VI.
    2. Browse to and select the location where you want to save the project on the host computer. The default location is C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\My Documents\LabVIEW Data. You also can enter a name for the project file (.lvproj).
    3. Browse to and select the path to the Touch Panel VI you are creating or importing.
  2. Click the Next button.
  3. Select the Touch Panel target from the Device type pull-down menu.
  4. If you selected to create the project with a new VI in step 2, select a template from the VI template pull-down menu. The Touch Panel Module includes a landscape and a portrait template.
  5. Click the Next button. A preview of how the Touch Panel target and the project will look in the Project Explorer window appears.
  6. (Optional) Remove the checkmark from the Create a build specification checkbox if you do not want to immediately create a build specification.
  7. Click the Finish button.

The project now appears in the Project Explorer window. Double-click the VI under the Touch Panel target to open the front panel and block diagram windows.
