Each statechart has an associated Run Statechart function that contains the LabVIEW code that represents that statechart. To execute a statechart, you must generate code for that statechart to update the Run Statechart function, which you place in a caller VI. You can debug the statechart while the caller VI is running.

You can execute statecharts on a variety of different targets, including certain embedded devices, PDAs, National Instruments Real-Time Series targets, and NI FPGA targets. Refer to the National Instruments Web site for information about these products. You specify the execution target by using the Statechart Code Generation page of the Project Library Properties dialog box.
