Owning Palette: Frequency Analysis VIs

Use the Spectrum Extended Measurements VIs to perform advanced frequency analysis measurements.

The VIs on this palette can return ranges of LabVIEW error codes or specific sound and vibration error codes.

Palette ObjectDescription
SVC Sort ResultsSorts an array of peaks according to the sort by and sort order parameters. Use this VI to sort peaks that the SVFA Spectrum Peak Search, SVT Spurious Free Dynamic Range, and SVT THD and Harmonic Components VIs return.
SVFA Compensate Phase for Time DelayCompensates FFT and frequency response phase spectra for time delay. You can introduce time delays with the DUT, data acquisition hardware, and measurement analysis. Compensation in this VI is restricted to linear phase resulting from a pure time delay. You can use this polymorphic VI to compensate a single spectrum, N spectra, a single channel of XY data, or N channels of XY data. The data type you wire to the phase spectrum input determines the polymorphic instance to use.
SVFA Get Spectrum SubsetExtracts the subset of the spectrum specified by range. x0 is updated to reflect the new start frequency, dx is the same as in the input spectrum, and the spectrum array is shortened so the last element corresponds with the stop value specified in the range. Use this VI for operations such as limiting subsequent spectrum operations to the region of interest or removing the part of the spectrum outside the alias-free bandwidth, as well as others. You can use this polymorphic VI to take a subset of a single spectrum, N spectra, a single complex spectrum, or N complex spectra. The data type you wire to the phase spectrum input determines the polymorphic instance to use.
SVFA Get Spectrum ValueExtracts the value of the spectrum at the specified frequency. Use the frequency coercion control to specify how the frequency should be coerced if it does not exactly coincide with a frequency line. This VI operates on any real-valued spectrum.
SVFA Magnitude and Phase to Real and ImaginaryConverts spectra from polar components to rectangular components. This conversion can reduce the computational power necessary to view and process spectra.
SVFA Phase Unit ConversionConverts phase spectra between degrees, radians, and cycles. You can use this polymorphic VI to convert a single spectrum, N spectra, a single channel of XY data, or N channels of XY data. The data type you wire to the phase spectrum input determines the polymorphic instance to use.
SVFA Power in BandComputes the aggregate power in the range. The SVL Power in Band VI operates on Power, PSD, COP, and FFT [Mag] spectra. You can use this polymorphic VI to analyze a single spectrum or N spectra. The data type you wire to the spectrum input determines the polymorphic instance to use.
SVFA Real and Imaginary to Magnitude and PhaseConverts spectra from rectangular components to polar components. You can display magnitude and phase information on graphs and send this information to other Spectrum Extended Measurements VIs.
SVFA Spectrum Peak SearchPerforms a peak search on a spectrum or spectra. The spectrum or spectra can be in either the frequency domain or the order domain. Detects single or multiple peaks in Power, PSD, and COP spectra. You can use this polymorphic VI to analyze a single spectrum or N spectra. The data type you wire to the spectrum input determines the polymorphic instance to use.
SVFA Unit ConversionConverts between dB/linear, magnitude/magnitude^2, rms/peak/peak-peak, spectrum/spectral density, and dB ref1/dB ref2. You can use this polymorphic VI to convert a single spectrum, N spectra, a single complex spectrum, N complex spectra, a single channel of XY data, N channels of XY data, a single channel with M orders of XY data, N channels with M orders of XY data, waterfall data, or colormap data. The data type you wire to the spectrum or magnitudes input determines the polymorphic instance to use.
SVFA Wrap or Unwrap PhaseWraps the phase spectra to the specified range, so that all phase values are coerced to the specified band. You also can use this VI to unwrap phase spectra to eliminate discontinuities with absolute values exceeding 180 degrees = pi radians = 0.5 cycles. You can use this polymorphic VI to wrap/unwrap a single spectrum, N spectra, a single channel of XY data, or N channels of XY data. The data type you wire to the phase spectrum in input determines the polymorphic instance to use.
SVL Integration (frequency)Converts acceleration to velocity or displacement. You can use this polymorphic VI to integrate a single spectrum or N spectra. The data type you wire to the spectrum input determines the polymorphic instance to use.
SVL Limit TestingPerforms limit testing on waveforms, spectra, XY data, identified peaks, or scalar measurements. You can wire output values to a graph to view the limits, signal, and failures. You can use this polymorphic VI to perform limit testing of a waveform, a waveform with scalar limits, a spectrum, a spectrum with scalar limits, XY data, XY data with scalar limits, peaks, peaks with scalar limits, or a scalar value. The data type you wire to the signal in input determines the polymorphic instance to use.
SVT Human Vibration Weighting Filter (frequency)Applies the selected human vibration weighting to FFT-based spectra. You can use this polymorphic VI to apply weighting to one spectrum or to N spectra. The data type you wire to the spectrum input determines the polymorphic instance to use.
SVT Radiocommunications Weighting Filter (frequency)Applies the selected weighting to a previously computed frequency spectrum or spectra. You can use this polymorphic VI to apply weighting to a single frequency spectrum or to frequency spectra. The data type you wire to the spectrum info in input determines the polymorphic instance to use.
SVT Telecommunications Weighting Filter (frequency)Applies the selected weighting to a previously computed frequency spectrum or spectra. You can use this polymorphic VI to apply weighting to a single frequency spectrum or to N frequency spectra. The data type you wire to the spectrum info in input determines the polymorphic instance to use.
SVT Weighting Filter (frequency)Applies the selected weighting to the spectrum or spectra in the frequency domain. The SVT Weighting Filter (frequency) VI operates on Power, PSD, COP, FFT [Mag], FFT [Re], and FFT [Imag] spectra. You can use this polymorphic VI to apply weighting to a single spectrum or N spectra. The data type you wire to the spectrum input determines the polymorphic instance to use.
