A spurious free dynamic range (SFDR) measurement quantifies the lowest level peaks identifiable as actual components of the signal instead of device under test artifacts. Typically, the SFDR is measured with the amplitude of the excitation signal set to 0 dB FS or –1 dB FS. The measured SFDR is then the difference in amplitude, in decibels, between the excitation tone and the largest spur. The following front panel shows the SFDR test spectrum on the left channel of the two-channel audio equalizer.
