Owning Palette: Octave Analysis VIs

Use the Octave Extended Measurements VIs to apply weighting to previously computed octave spectra, to generate a table based on the results of a fractional-octave analysis, or to extract a value or subset from an octave spectra.

The VIs on this palette can return ranges of LabVIEW error codes or specific sound and vibration error codes.

Palette ObjectDescription
SVL Limit TestingPerforms limit testing on waveforms, spectra, XY data, identified peaks, or scalar measurements. You can wire output values to a graph to view the limits, signal, and failures. The data type you wire to the signal in input determines the polymorphic instance to use.
SVT Build Result TableGenerates a table based on the results of a fractional-octave analysis. The first column of the table contains the nominal frequencies in Hz. The second and subsequent columns contain the 1/n band power with the appropriate unit label. The data type you wire to the octave spectrum input determines the polymorphic instance to use.
SVT Get Octave SubsetExtracts the subset of the octave spectrum specified by frequency range for a single channel or N channels.
SVT Get Octave ValueExtracts the band power value of the octave spectrum at the specified input frequency. Finds the octave band that corresponds to the input frequency if the input frequency does not exactly coincide with a nominal frequency.
SVT Human Vibration Weighting Filter (octave)Applies the selected human vibration weighting to octave spectra. The data type you wire to the octave spectrum input determines the polymorphic instance to use.
SVT Octave Spectrum ConversionConverts an octave spectrum between dB/linear, magnitude/magnitude^2, spectrum/spectral density, and dB ref1/dB ref2.
