Dialog Box Options

ParameterDescription
Pair selectionSpecifies the pair of channels for which to display the shaft centerline plot. This option is available only when you set View to Shaft Centerline.
ViewSpecifies whether to display the input time-domain signals or the shaft centerline plot of the input signals.
  • Time Signals—Displays the input signals and the input speed profile.
  • Shaft Centerline—(Default) Displays the shaft centerline plot of the input signals.
SignalsDisplays the input signals for all channels. This option is available only when you set View to Time Signals.
  • Autoscale—Automatically adjusts the scales of the graph to display the data.
Speed profileDisplays the input rotational speed waveform. This option is available only when you set View to Time Signals.
  • Autoscale—Automatically adjusts the scales of the graph to display the data.
Shaft CenterlineDisplays the shaft centerline plot of the input signals. This option is available only when you set View to Shaft Centerline.
  • Autoscale—Automatically adjusts the scales of the graph to display the data.
  • Cursor information—Displays the cursor values of the shaft centerline plot.
InputSpecifies the input settings.
  • Input signal—Specifies to display the shaft centerline plot for N channels. This step supports only an even number of channels.
  • Speed profile—Specifies the rotational speed waveform. This option is available only with the NI Sound and Vibration Assistant.
Channel PropertyContains the following options:
  • Number of channels—Specifies the number of channels for which you want to display the shaft centerline plot. This option is available only with the Express VI. The Sound and Vibration Assistant automatically detects the number of channels for you.
  • Channel properties—Specifies properties of each channel.
    • Channel Name—Specifies the name of each channel.
    • Probe Angle (deg)—Specifies the probe angle value, in degrees, of each channel.
    • Pair—Specifies the pair number of each channel.
ConfigurationContains the following options:
  • Reference label selection—Specifies the type of scale to use for the reference label of the shaft centerline plot.
    • Time (Default)
    • Revolution
    • RPM
  • Run type—Specifies whether this data represents a Run-up (Default) or Run-down test. This parameter is available only if you select Speed from the X-axis selection pull-down menu.If you select Run-up, this step performs order analysis only when the measured speed increases. If you select Run-down, this step performs order analysis only when the measured speed decreases. If you place a checkmark in the Limit range checkbox, the Run type parameter has a higher priority than the Start speed (RPM) and End speed (RPM) parameters. For example, if you set Run type to Run-up and Start speed (RPM) is greater than End speed (RPM), the NI Sound and Vibration Assistant switches the numeric values such that Start speed (RPM) is less than End speed (RPM).
  • Time interval (s)—Specifies the time interval between two consecutive shaft centerline outputs. The minimum value of Time interval (s) is 0.001. The default is 0.1. This option is available only when you set Reference label selection to Time.
  • Speed interval (RPM)—Specifies the speed interval between two consecutive shaft centerline outputs. The minimum value of Speed interval (RPM) is 1. The default is 50. This option is available only when you set Reference label selection to RPM.
  • Limit range—Specifies whether to set a start and end value for the time or rotational speed at which to display the shaft centerline plot. Limit range is available when you set Reference label selection to Time or RPM. The default is FALSE.
Note  If the values you specify for the Start speed (RPM) and End speed (RPM) parameters do not match the setting of the Run type parameter, the Sound and Vibration Assistant switches the numeric values to match the Run type parameter.
    • Start time (s)—Specifies the start time at which to display the shaft centerline plot. Start time (s) is available only when you set Reference label selection to Time. The default is 0.

The value of Start time (s) must be less than the value of End time (s).
    • End time (s)—Specifies the end time at which to display the shaft centerline plot. End time (s) is available only when you set Reference label selection to Time. The default is Inf, which means to display the shaft centerline plot from the start time to the end of the signal. The value of End time (s) must be greater than the value of Start time (s).
    • Start speed (RPM)—Specifies the start rotational speed at which to display the shaft centerline plot. Start speed (RPM) is available only when you set Reference label selection to RPM. The default is 0.
    • End speed (RPM)—Specifies the end rotational speed at which to display the shaft centerline plot. End speed (RPM) is available only when you set Reference label selection to RPM. The default is Inf, which means this step displays the shaft centerline plot from the start rotational speed to the end of the signal.

Block Diagram Inputs

ParameterDescription
input signalsSpecifies the input signals.
speed profileSpecifies the rotational speed waveform.
error inDescribes error conditions that occur before this Express VI runs. The default is no error. If an error occurred before this VI or function runs, the VI or function passes the error in value to error out. If an error occurs while this VI or function runs, it runs normally and sets its own error status in error out. Use the Simple Error Handler or General Error Handler VIs to display the description of the error code. Use error in and error out to check errors and to specify execution order by wiring error out from one node to error in of the next node.
resetSpecifies the initialization of the internal state of the VI. The default is FALSE.

Block Diagram Outputs

ParameterDescription
shaft centerlineReturns the shaft centerline plot.
end reachedIndicates whether the input signals reaches the end time or speed value that you specified in the Limit range.
error outContains error information. This output provides standard error out functionality.
