Running a VI executes the application. You can run a VI if the Run button on the toolbar appears as a solid white arrow, shown as follows.

The behavior of the Run button in Touch Panel VIs differs from VIs you run on Windows.
Click the Run button in a Touch Panel VI to build the VI into an application, deploy the application to the Touch Panel target, and run the application on the target. LabVIEW prompts you to create a build specification if you do not have an existing build specification.
