You can use the arrow keys on a smartphone to navigate the controls or indicators in Mobile VIs. Set the tab order of all front panel controls and indicators on the front panel interface to enable key navigation.

The right and down arrow keys move the focus to the next item in the tab order list. The up and left arrow keys move the focus to the previous item in the tab order. For some controls, the arrow keys can increment or decrement the control. For example, if the control is a vertical slide control, the up and down arrow keys adjust the slide control and the left and right arrow keys move to the previous or next item in the tab order. If the control is a horizontal slide control, the left and right arrow keys adjust the control and the up and down arrow keys move to the previous or next item in the tab order.

In the following cases, arrow key navigation on a smartphone differs from navigation on user interfaces for targets running Windows:

  • When you navigate through an array on a smartphone, the arrow keys move into the index display before moving into elements of the array.
  • To configure the tab order of a cluster, right-click the cluster border and select Reorder Controls in Cluster from the shortcut menu.
  • When you navigate through a graph on a smartphone, the arrow keys move into the scale legend before moving into the cursor legend. You cannot navigate into the graph itself.
  • When you navigate through a radio buttons control on a smartphone, the arrow keys move to the currently selected radio button. To configure the tab order of a radio buttons control, right-click the control and select Reorder Controls in Cluster from the shortcut menu.
