You can use the Alarms or Events view to monitor alarms and events. An Alarms view is a sub-view of a Watch List view. Use the Alarms view to monitor alarms and events for processes whose objects are in a Watch List view. The Events view is a stand-alone view. Use the Events view to monitor alarms and events for systems and processes that are on the system tree.

Using the Alarms View

Complete the following steps to monitor alarms and/or events by using the Alarms view.

  1. In the system tree pane, right-click a system tree object and select Watch List from the shortcut menu. The System Manager displays a Watch List view and adds the object to this view.
  2. (Optional) Drag additional objects to the Watch List view.
  3. Right-click in the Watch List view and select Show Alarms from the shortcut menu to display the Alarms view.
  4. (Optional) Configure filter options to display alarms, events, or both alarms and events in this view.

Using the Events View

Complete the following steps to monitor alarms and/or events by using the Events view.

  1. Locate the Events view. If you do not see this view, select View»Events to display this view.
  2. (Optional) Configure filter options to display alarms, events, or both alarms and events in this view.
  3. Right-click in the Events view and select Select Processes from the shortcut menu to display the Select Processes dialog box.
  4. In the Available Processes list, click the process you want to monitor.
  5. Click the Add button to add this process to the Selected Processes list.
    Note  You can use the Remove and Clear buttons to remove a highlighted process or all processes from the Selected Processes list.
  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 to add all the processes that you want to monitor to the Selected Processes list.
  7. Click the OK button to close the Select Processes dialog box. The Events view displays events that the selected processes generate.
