You can execute tests on password-protected VIs by adding passwords to the project settings. During execution, LabVIEW stores the passwords in the LabVIEW password cache and saves them in the project file (.lvproj). LabVIEW encrypts the passwords before saving them in the project file.

Complete the following steps to store VI passwords to the project settings.

  1. Open the LabVIEW project that contains the files on which you want to perform unit testing.
  2. Click the Project Properties button on the Project toolbar to display the Project Properties dialog box.
  3. Select Unit Test Framework from the Category list to display the Unit Test Framework page.
  4. Enter the password of the password-protected VI in the Password to Add text box.
  5. Click the Add button.
  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 to add more passwords to the password list.
  7. Click the OK button to close the dialog box and return to the Project Explorer window.

You can clear the password list from the project settings and from the project file by clicking the Clear All button.

Note  Clicking the Clear All button does not remove passwords from the LabVIEW password cache. You can remove passwords from the LabVIEW password cache by restarting LabVIEW or by clearing the password cache from the Environment page of the Options dialog box.
