The LabVIEW DataFinder Toolkit VIs can return the following error codes.

| The Query reference is not valid. | |
| The DataFinder reference is not valid. | |
| The specified path is not valid. | |
| To optimize a custom property that has not been indexed, you must specify a data type. | |
| It is not possible to optimize base properties. | |
| A search area with the specified client path already exists. | |
| The specified path is not valid. | |
| The specified path is not valid, because it is a subfolder of a folder that is excluded from the search. | |
| The specified path is not valid because it contains a folder that is excluded from the search. | |
| The specified path is not valid because it is a subfolder of an existing search area. | |
| The specified path is not valid because it contains a search area that already exists. | |
| A search area with the specified name already exists. | |
| A search area with the specified path already exists. | |
| The specified client path is invalid. | |
| The specified path is invalid. | |
| The specified name is invalid. | |
| The specified search area is invalid. | |
| The DataFinder Toolkit-API cannot configure DataFinder Version 2.0. | |
