From the NI Real-Time Hypervisor Manager, double-click the word Partitioned in the Memory row to display this dialog box.

Use this dialog box to configure the amount of random access memory (RAM) to allocate to the Windows OS and the NI ETS real-time OS. You must allocate at least 128 MB of RAM to each operating system.

This dialog box includes the following components.

  • Windows (MB)—Specifies the amount of RAM, in multiples of four megabytes, to allocate to Windows.
  • Real-Time (MB)—Specifies the amount of RAM, in multiples of four megabytes, to allocate to the NI ETS real-time operating system.
  • Available Memory Allocation—Specifies the amount of RAM, in multiples of four megabytes, to allocate to Windows. The NI Real-Time Hypervisor allocates all remaining RAM to the NI ETS real-time operating system. The amount of memory displayed on the right side of this slider is an estimate of available memory that reflects 104 MB less than the total amount of installed memory. The NI Real-Time Hypervisor requires approximately 104 MB of memory overhead.
