Use the System Explorer Functions VIs to interact with the System Explorer window.

NI VeriStand - Commit System Explorer Update BufferCommits updates to the System Explorer window. Using this VI together with the Enable System Explorer Update Buffer VI can speed up item creation if you are creating or updating multiple custom device items at one time.
NI VeriStand - Disable Dynamic ButtonDisables a custom toolbar button for an item's System Explorer window configuration page. Disabled buttons do not appear in the toolbar. You can use this VI to hide a button.
NI VeriStand - Enable Dynamic ButtonEnables a custom toolbar button for an item's System Explorer window configuration page. You can use this VI to only display the button when certain conditions are met.
NI VeriStand - Enable System Explorer Update BufferEnables the buffer for updates to the System Explorer window. Using this VI together with the Commit System Explorer Update Buffer VI can speed up item creation if you are creating or updating multiple custom device items at one time.
NI VeriStand - Get Event RefnumReturns a registered event refnum that the custom device Configuration VI, which is called when a user instantiates a new instance of a custom device, uses to respond to System Explorer window events.
NI VeriStand - Item Reference to PointerConverts a reference to an item, or node, in a system definition file into a pointer to the same node. You can use this VI to switch from the Custom Device API VIs available in LabVIEW to the System Explorer .NET API. The .NET API uses pointers to nodes. The LabVIEW VIs use references to items.
NI VeriStand - Parse Incoming Command DataParses a System Explorer window user event and returns the appropriate Action command. You can wire the Action output to a Case Structure to configure how to respond to each command.
NI VeriStand - Pointer to Item ReferenceConverts a pointer to a node in the system definition file into an item reference for the same node. You can use this VI to switch from the System Explorer .NET API to the Custom Device API VIs available in LabVIEW. The .NET API uses pointers to nodes. The LabVIEW VIs use references to items.
NI VeriStand - Signal When Ready for ShutdownSignals that the System Explorer window is ready to go into idle mode. Ensure all changes are saved before calling this VI.
NI VeriStand - Unset Busy CursorReleases the front panel cursor of the System Explorer window. Use this VI after a Page VI finishes initializing.
