After you create a robotics simulation scene in a manifest file, you might want to read or modify the properties of a component in the scene for the following reasons:

Use one of the following procedures to read from or modify properties of components.

  • If you created the simulation scene in the Robotics Environment Simulator Wizard, right-click the simulation target () in the Project Explorer window and select Properties from the shortcut menu to launch the wizard. Use the Properties table at the bottom left of the wizard to view IDs of components you select and modify their properties.
Tip  You also can open the ID list file to view the IDs of components in the simulation scene you create.
  • If the manifest file for the simulation scene is not in a LabVIEW simulation project, you can manually read and modify properties of components defined in the manifest file. Use the Load Simulation Instance VI with the properties available in the Property Node (Simulator Engine) to read from the file, as shown in the following block diagram.

You also can read the contents of a manifest file, use a Property Node (Simulator Engine) to overwrite the properties of a component with new values, and then save the updated definition for the simulation scene in the manifest file. Right-click the property and select Change To Read or Change To Write from the shortcut menu to change the operation of the property.
Note  The robotics simulator returns component properties in SI units and SI-derived units. Use the same units when you define component properties.
