The IEC 60870-5 VIs can return the following error codes. Refer to the KnowledgeBase for more information about correcting errors in LabVIEW.

Code Description
−355302 Invalid file IOA. Ensure the file IOA is not zero.
−355301 Invalid file operation mode. Choose either edit or monitor.
−355300 You cannot bind the control point to the monitor point because the types of the two points do not match.
−355299 The file name must be a non-zero number.
−355298 Invalid ASDU address. If the ASDU size is 2, the ASDU address cannot be 0 or 65535. If the ASDU size is 1, the ASDU address cannot be 0, 255, or greater than 255.
−355297 The k Value is out of range. The maximum value of k Value is 12.
−355296 Invalid DCS value. Choose either On or Off.
−355292 You cannot bind this type of control points to monitor points.
−355291 The response type does not match the current command type. Ensure the response type is identical to the command type. For example, if the current command is an execute command, the response must be an execute response.
−355290 Invalid control mode. Refer to the help for the valid enumeration.
−355288 The file operating is already started.
−355287 The file is not ready. Ensure the file operating is started.
−355285 Invalid file refnum.
−355284 Invalid section position. Ensure the section position does not exceed the size of the section.
−355283 Unable to find the section. Ensure the name of section exists and the name is not 0.
−355281 Failed to create a new file. The file IOA already exists.
−355280 The file does not exist.
−355278 Invalid scan period. Ensure the scan period is a positive number.
−355277 Failed to bind the parameter point. Ensure the parameter point has not been bound to another point.
−355276 The parameter point IOA is occupied.
−355275 The control point IOA is occupied.
−355274 The control point does not exist.
−355273 The monitor point does not exist.
−355272 Invalid parameter point IOA. Ensure the parameter point IOA is not zero.
−355271 Invalid monitor point IOA. Ensure the monitor point IOA is not zero.
−355270 Invalid control point IOA. Ensure the control point IOA is not zero.
−355269 This type of points does not have parameters.
−355268 Invalid parameter type. Refer to the help for the valid enumeration.
−355255 The sector has the same name as an existing sector in the same channel.
−355254 The 104 channel has the same name as an existing 104 channel in the same controlled station.
−355253 The 101 channel has the same name as an existing 101 channel in the same controlled station.
−355252 The controlled station has the same name as an existing controlled station in the same application.
−355251 The specified controlled station, channel, or sector name is invalid. The name contains one or more of the following reserved characters: /, $, ^, (, or ).
−355250 Invalid ASDU address size. Choose either One Octet or Two Octet.
−355249 Invalid IOA size. Choose One Octet, Two Octet, or Three Octet.
−355248 Invalid COT size. Choose either One Octet or Two Octet.
−355247 Invalid time format. Refer to the help for the valid enumeration.
−355246 Invalid event mode. Choose either SOE or Most Recent.
−355245 Invalid flow control. Choose None, RTS/CTS, or DTR/DSR.
−355244 Invalid confirm mode. Choose Never, Sometimes, or Always.
−355243 Invalid link address size. Choose either One Octet or Two Octet.
−355242 Invalid link mode. Choose either Balanced or Unbalanced.
−355241 Invalid wire mode. Refer to the help for the valid enumeration.
−355240 Invalid MIT mode. Choose either Freeze with Reset or Freeze without Reset.
−355239 Invalid DPI mode. Refer to the help for the valid enumeration.
−355238 Invalid generate event mode. Refer to the help for the valid enumeration.
−355237 Invalid transmit mode. Refer to the help for the valid enumeration.
−355236 Invalid group type. Refer to the help for the valid value.
−355235 Invalid baud rate. Refer to the device manual for the valid baud rates.
−355234 This property is not supported on 101 channels.
−355232 You cannot complete the command when the command is not under the monitor mode.
−355229 The IOA is occupied by another point.
−355228 Invalid point type. Refer to the help for the valid enumeration.
−355227 The point does not exist.
−355225 The serial port does not exist.
−355224 Unable to create the control point. Ensure the monitor point has not been bound to another control point.
−355223 Invalid COI. Choose either Manual Reset or Remote Reset.
−355220 Invalid command refnum.
−355218 Invalid sector refnum.
−355217 The specified sector was not created properly. Use the Create Sector VI to create a sector. If the problem persists, contact National Instruments technical support.
−355216 Unable to open the 101 channel. Ensure the serial port is present and you have VISA and NI-Serial installed.
−355215 Invalid 104 channel refnum.
−355214 Invalid 101 channel refnum.
−355211 The 104 channel was not created properly. Use the Create Channel (104) VI to create a 104 channel. If the problem persists, contact National Instruments technical support.
−355210 The 101 channel was not created properly. Use the Create Channel (101) VI to create a 101 channel. If the problem persists, contact National Instruments technical support.
−355209 You cannot apply the channel configuration when the channel is working, which indicates that one or multiple sectors are created and are using this channel.
−355208 Invalid channel refnum.
−355207 The specified channel is not working properly. The channel cannot transmit or receive messages.
−355205 Invalid controlled station refnum.
−355203 Unable to create the IEC60870-5 stack scan thread. The system has run out of memory or cannot spawn more threads.
−355202 The scan thread priority cannot be set correctly. Ensure the controlled station is created correctly.
−355201 The controlled station was not created properly. Use the Create Controlled Station VI to create controlled station. If the problem persists, contact National Instruments technical support.
−355200 The IEC60870-5 stack has run out of memory.
355200 Link status timed out. Ensure the settings of the controlling station match the settings of the controlled station, the cable is connected to the controlling station, and the controlling station is alive.
355201 No data transmission in the channel. Ensure the controlling station is connected, the serial settings of the controlling station match the settings of the controlled station, and the serial port is not being used by other applications.
355202 No controlling station is connected, or the listening port is being used by other applications.
355203 The ending sync byte of the frame is invalid. Ensure the serial settings of the controlling station match the settings of the controlled station.
355204 This point is being operated by the controlling station.
355205 The maximum size of the section is reached.
355206 The file is incomplete. The file transmission may have errors or be cancelled by the controlling station.
