RFmxSpecAn DPD allows two modes for applying DPD on an input waveform. These are the Measurement mode, and the User mode.

Measurement mode uses the computed DPD lookup table or polynomial for applying DPD on an input waveform using the same RFmx session handle. The configuration parameters for applying DPD such as the DPD DUT Avg Input Pwr, DPD Model, DPD Meas Sample Rate, DPD polynomial, and lookup table are obtained from the DPD measurement configuration.

User mode allows you to apply DPD on an input waveform by configuring a previously computed DPD lookup table or polynomial. User mode can be enabled by setting DPD Apply DPD Configuration Input property to User. You must also set the configuration parameters for applying DPD such as the DPD Apply DPD User DUT Avg Input Pwr, DPD Apply DPD User DPD Model, DPD Apply DPD User Meas Sample Rate, DPD polynomial, and lookup table.

The following steps show one of the implementations of user mode of apply DPD, using a custom LUT.

  1. Enable DPD measurement.
  2. Set Apply DPD Configuration Input property to User.
  3. Set Apply DPD User DUT Average Input Power, Apply DPD User Measurement Sampling Rate, Apply DPD User DPD Model properties.
  4. Set Apply DPD User LUT Correction Type and Apply DPD User LUT Type properties.
  5. Configure lookup table by setting LUT Input Powers and LUT Complex Gains.
  6. Apply Digital Predistortion.
