Troubleshooting the Connection between the Server and a Device

The NI InsightCM web application opens the Test Connection dialog box when you connect to an online device while adding the device to NI InsightCM Server. This dialog box checks common issues that prevent a device from connecting to NI InsightCM Server and coming online.

Troubleshooting Failures during Step 2

If the step 2 Application check fails but the 2a Support for Deployment check succeeds, you can continue to add the device, but you must manually deploy a supported application to the device before it can come online. This failure can occur when the device is formatted correctly but it is not yet running a supported application. After you add the device, browse to the Device Configuration page»Software tab, click the Update Application button, and select an application to deploy.
