This tab allows you to specify what features a user can assign to an asset type.

What do you want to do?

Task Action
Add a feature to an asset definition. Click Add to display the Add Features dialog box which shows a list of features not already assigned to the asset node type.
Note  An asset definition can contain only one instance of each type of feature.
Remove a feature from an asset definition. Select a feature and click Remove to remove it from the definition and existing instances of the asset type to which it is assigned.
Add features to existing instances of an asset type. Select a feature that contains no value in the Default column and click Toggle default.
Note  When prompted, choose the affirmative option in the Update Nodes? dialog box to add the feature to every existing instance of the asset type to which it is assigned. Otherwise InsightCM includes the feature only on new instances of the asset type.
Specify default features for a particular type of asset node. Select a feature and click Toggle default.
Note  No value in the Default column means that the feature does not automatically apply to all instances of that asset type but you can add it individually to any instance of that type. However, switching a default feature to non-default status does not automatically remove the feature from existing instances of the asset type.
Specify what optional features are available for a particular type of asset node. Add a feature from the Add Features dialog box and leave the Default column blank. You can add this feature individually to any or all instances of the asset type to which it is assigned.
Define what properties a feature has when it is assigned to a particular asset type. Select a feature and click Edit to display the Properties dialog box for that particular feature.
Note  Not all features have properties to edit. The Edit button is only enabled when you select a feature that has configurable properties.
