Location: To access this dialog box, click Add on the Property Definitions tab on the Asset Node Definition Editor.

Use this dialog box to configure property fields that appear on the Asset Configuration page for a particular asset type.

This dialog box contains the following options:

  • Key—An ID for the property you want to define. This is the value that appears in the Property Key listbox when you configure layout groups.
  • Label—The label you want to display in the NI InsightCM web application. If you leave this field blank, the NI InsightCM web application uses the Key value. Defining a label is useful because property keys cannot contain white spaces or symbols and are not always easy to read.
  • Type—Determines whether the property definition is a property of an asset or of an operating state. This determines whether the property field appears in the Properties tab or the Operating States tab on the Asset Configuration page.
  • Value Type—Determines the data type of the property field.
  • Default Value—Specifies the value that the NI InsightCM web application automatically sets for the property when a user creates a new asset of this type.
  • General Properties—Contains the following options:
    • Read Only—Specifies whether users can edit the property value.
    • Hide Label—Specifies whether the property field label is visible in the NI InsightCM web application.
    • Prevent Multi-Edit—Specifies whether users can edit this property if they select multiple assets.
    • Field Width—Specifies the horizontal width, in pixels, that a property spans, including the width used by the field label.
    • Label Width—Specifies the horizontal width, in pixels, that the label beside the property field spans.
    • Label Align—Specifies where the label appears in the NI InsightCM web application in relation to the property field. By default, the label appears to the left of the property field.

The following options are available only when you select the corresponding value in the Value Type field.

  • Action Button Properties:
    • Button Width—Specifies the horizontal width, in pixels, of the action button.
    • Panel Class—Specifies the Sencha Ext JS class to use with the action button dialog box.
    • Panel Title—Specifies the title that appears at the top of the action button dialog box.
    • Cancel Button—Specifies whether the action button dialog box includes a cancel button.
    • Panel Width—Specifies the horizontal width, in pixels, of the action button dialog box.
    • Panel Height—Specifies the vertical height, in pixels, of the action button dialog box.
