Generates a relay signal to an external peripheral through the relay channels on the roboRIO. Each relay channel contains a forward (FWD) pin and a reverse (REV) pin. The roboRIO provides 5 V DIO lines for generating relay signals.

Dialog Box Options

Node nameSpecifies the name of this Express VI. You can also double-click the name of this Express VI on the expandable node to edit the name.
ChannelSpecifies the channel to generate the relay signal.
Custom channel nameSpecifies a custom name for the relay channel that you select.
Delete ChannelDeletes the relay channel that you select.
Add ChannelAdds a new relay channel to the channel list. You can add up to four relay channels.
View CodeDisplays the underlying code of this Express VI.
Connection DiagramShows the I/O connector pinouts on the roboRIO. The highlighted pinouts represent the channels that you configure.

Block Diagram Inputs

channel nameSpecifies name of the relay channel. Create controls or constants from each relay channel to specify the value to write to the relay channel. You can specify one of the following values for each relay channel.
  • Off (default)—Both the FWD pin and the REV pin return 0 volts.
  • On—Both the FWD pin and the REV pin return 5 V.
  • Forward—The FWD pin returns 5 V and the REV pin returns 0 V.
  • Reverse—The FWD pin returns 0 V and the REV pin returns 5 V.
error in (no error)Describes error conditions that occur before this node runs.
