Application Deployment Using NI Package Builder

NI Package Builder helps you create an installer for your application that includes NI packages, loose files, and existing installers. NI Package Builder helps identify the dependencies that are needed for proper run-time behavior of your deployed application.

For information on creating an installer using NI Package Builder, refer to the Package Builder Help, accessible from within the Package Builder application.

Application Deployment Using Measurement Studio Installer Builder and Runtime Installers

Measurement Studio Installer Builder helps you create an installer for your application that includes NI libraries and installers. Installer Builder helps identify the NI installers that are needed for proper run-time behavior of your deployed application. Installer Builder uses Microsoft Windows Installer (.msi) distribution technology. The Windows Installer technology packages all built libraries and executables along with any necessary files and registry keys into a single installer that can be run on a target machine. Windows installers include versioning information, which enforces correct behavior when performing upgrades, repairs, or reinstallations, and also provide a familiar install-time user interface.

Installer Builder uses runtime installers to simplify creating an installer for your application. Runtime installers package functionally similar files into a single component for deployment. Some NI software products provide runtime installers so you can redeploy the software runtime with your application.

For information on creating an installer using Installer Builder, refer to the NI Measurement Studio Installer Builder Help, accessible from within the Installer Builder application.

XCOPY Deployment

Measurement Studio supports XCOPY (file copy) deployment for Windows applications.

Package Builder Deployment
