FIRST Robotics Competition Partners with National Instruments to Provide Next-Generation Robot Control System
Overview
FIRST is the biggest robotics program in the world, and impacts and inspires approximately 200,000 students each year by giving them hands-on, real-world experience with science and engineering by building robots. For their varsity-level FIRST Robotics Competition, FIRST wanted a widely-adopted, industry-standard technology that students would likely use in college and their careers to be the robotic controller, and thus chose the National Instruments CompactRIO system. Similarly, FIRST provided LabVIEW to teams to program their robots and 65% of teams chose to use LabVIEW in the first year.
