Overview

A first step in developing any large application is capturing the requirements, before any serious development begins. Developers use many different approaches for capturing or documenting requirements, from text files or Microsoft Word documents to using dedicated requirements management tools such as Telelogic DOORS or IBM Rational Requisite Pro. The key to managing requirements is to have them documented clearly, and then to associate them with the code that has been implemented to cover them.
