CNVGetDataType

int CNVGetDataType (CNVData data, CNVDataType *type, unsigned long *numberOfDimensions);

Purpose

Gets the type and number of dimensions of the data.

Parameters

Input
Name Type Description
data CNVData The handle that identifies the network variable data.
Output
Name Type Description
type CNVDataType The type of the network variable data. CNVEmpty indicates that the data handle does not contain any value but may contain timestamp or quality information.
numberOfDimensions unsigned long The number of dimensions of the network variable data. If the data is a scalar, CNVGetDataType returns zero as the number of dimensions.

Return Value

Name Type Description
status int Return value indicating whether the function was successful. One indicates that a next item was found, zero indicates that a next item was not found, and a negative number indicates that an error occurred.

You can call CNVGetErrorDescription to obtain a string that describes the error.
