All ActiveX objects maintain reference counts. Each object keeps track of the number of other objects that reference it so the object can determine when to free the resources it uses. Typically, you do not have to take any specific actions to maintain a reference count. However, you must help maintain the reference count if you call a method or property that returns an object or if you store a reference to an object in a global variable for use after the test module completes.
