Files To Update Tab

The Files To Update tab contains the following options:

  • Files To Update—The files to update.
    • Active Sequence File—Updates the active sequence file. This option is available only when a sequence file is active.
    • All Sequence Files under Directory—Updates all the sequence files located in the directory you specify and any subdirectories.
    • Specific Sequence Files—Updates all the sequence files listed in the list control. Use the Add Files, Remove, and Remove All options to edit the list of files to search.
    • All Sequence Files in Current Workspace—Updates all the sequence files the currently open workspace contains. This option is available only when a workspace is open.
    • Ignore Locked Files—Skips all locked files. TestStand sets this option by default.
  • Type Of Calls To Update—The type of VI/LabVIEW NXG VI calls to update.
    • Process Express VI Calls—TestStand checks all LabVIEW step instances that call an Express VI. The ring control contains the following options:
      • Report Problems Only (No Changes Will Be Made)—TestStand does not update sequence files, but instead lists suggested changes in the log report.
      • Reload Prototype If Modified—If the Express VI has changed, TestStand recreates the Express VI instance using the active LabVIEW version in order to use the new prototype.
      • Force Prototype Reload—TestStand always recreates the Express VI instance using the active LabVIEW version.
    • Process Standard VI Calls—TestStand checks all LabVIEW step instances that call a Standard VI. The ring control contains the following options:
      • Report Problems Only (No Changes Will Be Made)—TestStand does not update the sequence files, but instead lists suggested changes in the log report.
      • Reload Prototype If Modified—TestStand uses the new VI prototype if you have modified the VI since the prototype was last read.
      • Force Prototype Reload—TestStand always reloads the prototype of the VI, even if the prototype has not changed since the prototype was last read.
      • Ignore VI Namespace—TestStand will not use the VI namespace when finding the absolute path of a VI. When you enable this option, TestStand uses the same behavior to find a VI as in TestStand 2012 or earlier.
    • Process LV NXG VI Calls—TestStand checks all LabVIEW NXG step instances that call a LabVIEW NXG VI. The ring control contains the following options:
      • Report Problems Only (No Changes Will Be Made)—TestStand does not update the sequence files, but instead lists suggested changes in the log report.
      • Reload Prototype If Modified—TestStand uses the new LabVIEW NXG VI prototype if you have modified the LabVIEW NXG VI since the prototype was last read.
      • Force Prototype Reload—TestStand always reloads the prototype of the LabVIEW NXG VI, even if the prototype has not changed since the prototype was last read.
Note Note  TestStand will skip read-only sequence files if you select the Reload Prototype If Modified or Force Prototype Reload options for Express, Standard VI or LabVIEW NXG VI calls.
    • Log Results—The location of the log file and what information to log.
      • Destination—The location of the log file. TestStand saves the log data the Status tab displays to this location. If you specify a file that already exists, TestStand overwrites the file.
      • Report Steps With Errors Only—Logs only the step instances that fail to update or any other problem that prevents the step instance from executing.
      • Report Parameter Changes—Logs the parameters TestStand adds or deletes if the VI/ LabVIEW NXG VI prototype changed. This option is available only when you set the Update Express VIs option or the Reload Prototype If Changed option.

The Files to Update tab also contains the following button:

    • Passwords—Launches the Configuration VI Passwords To Use dialog box, in which you can specify the configuration VI passwords.
Note Note  If none of the passwords can open a Configuration VI, the attempt to update the corresponding step will timeout, and TestStand will add a timeout message to the report.
Note Note  The Files to Update tab is not available while updating sequence files.
