You can launch the TestStand Deployment Utility in the following ways:
Use the deployment utility to create a deployable image or a patch deployment of a TestStand system and an optional installer. The deployable image can contain sequence files, code modules, process models and supporting files, user interface applications, configuration files, and step types and supporting files the TestStand system uses. The installer can contain all files from a deployable image or contain only a subset of files to create a patch deployment for a previously deployed image.
Note You must save the TestStand deployment specification file (.tsd) and the full deployment installer to create a patch deployment and installer.
You can also use the deployment utility to include the TestStand Runtime and supporting files, LabVIEW and LabWindows/CVI Run-Time Engines, and hardware drivers in the installer you create. If the deployment includes LabVIEW files, you must have the LabVIEW development system with the Application Builder installed to automatically detect dependencies of top-level VIs and create a deployable image or installer. You do not need the Application Builder to use the deployment utility if you do not deploy LabVIEW files or if you enable the Include without Processing Item or Dependencies option on the Distributed Files tab of the deployment utility. You can also configure the deployment utility to remove VI block diagrams or to lock the VIs you deploy. The installer that the deployment utility creates can also register ActiveX servers, replace existing files on the target computer, and create program shortcuts.
Note For each system that you deploy, you must activate a TestStand license, typically a unique copy of the TestStand Base Deployment System License or the TestStand Debug Deployment Environment License.
Note The TestStand Deployment Utility does not require a license for build or analysis purposes, as defined by the License Agreement.
